A backyard oasis made from mostly reclaimed material is wrapping up. As the project starts to come to a close we want to share a little of what has been created with you. Every piece of stone or granite shown has been saved out of an old home before it was demolished or rescued from a job site before it was crushed up or buried. From a 12′ granite obelisk that was transformed into a pondless water feature by pouring an underground gunite pool and coring out the center of the stone; to a huge 8′ wide fireplace that has a decorative mantle and lentils pull from an early 1900s estate this site has become a work of art. Some other elements of this yard included tiered gardens, a unique outdoor cooking station and a reworked granite edged pool, just to name a few. It still needs some finish planting, but more posts will come when it is done!
